Testimonials We have had links with BSI since February 2010 when one of our Enterprise Computing Foundation Degree students, Nic, secured an eight week summer placement with the organisation. The placement BSI offered was excellent, giving Nic a broad range of “hands on” experience and teaching him a host of new skills that he was able to utilise in the second year of his course. In June 2010, Dave Norton, along with representatives from other local employers in the IT industry, participated in an IT Stakeholders student event. This event involved our BTEC National Diploma IT students showcasing and presenting their assessment projects to industry professionals and receiving advice and feedback. Once again, Dave was extremely proactive during the event and offered the students some excellent constructive criticism and advice for success in the industry. The impact that engaging with employers has on students is far reaching from both an academic and personal level. BSI have had further involvement with our IT project work this academic year, by collaborating with our tutors on a Software assignment brief and will be offering additional mentoring sessions in the near future in preparation for this year’s IT Stakeholders event in the summer term. We have found Dave Norton and his team at BSI to be extremely accommodating and helpful at all times and we are very grateful for their support and enthusiasm with our students.
